Step 2:
How To Solve First Layer Corners
Finishing the first layer of the Rubik's Cube is not a big deal. Just like in the previous step, the white corners
can be easily completed by an average people intuitively after a short familiarization with the cube.
The second step of the beginner's Rubik's Cube tutorial doesn't require long algorithms. You just have to apply a
couple of short permutations which you don't even have to memorize.
Here we are going to use algorithms:
R' D' R D
Some example tricks
Here are a few examples which you might be facing while solving your Rubik's Cube when you want to move a white corner piece to the top layer. In each example the piece we're fixing is the last white corner to demonstrate that these moves don't break the solved pieces.
According to the orientation there are three cases:
First case:
White sticker facing to the right.
Second case:
White sticker in the front face
Third case:
White sticker at the bottom of the cube.
When the white corner piece is in the white layer just in a wrong spot you first need to take it out to the bottom layer and do one of the previous moves. An example:
In all these situations, you have to apply algorithm:
R' D' R D
Just remember you have to find a piece of that colour combination you need to insert like in picture 1.
After that you have to apply the given algorithm by keeping that piece in your right layer(side).
